Check the web and you'll see tey (singular "they" for he or she) has 0 and unlimited vacation days: zero days because the president is at your service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even when tey declare the days as vacation days; unlimited days because tey can declare as many days as vacation days as tey need. But what is a presidential vacation? It is when tey take teir (singular "their" for his or her) on-call responsibility outside of the White House, which is teir official residence. So when the president goes on vacation, tey is doing the WOOHOO - Working Out Of Home Office Opportunity.

A fedora hat is a reminder of the 1950s and 1960s when politicians seemed to be better because everything seemed to be better under reminiscence. There are a dozen Republican candidates or so for the 2024 election. If you like to talk about issues instead of issuing sound bites for social media, wearing a fedora hat of yore shows your brain is in your head not on your mouth. You will be distinctively different as the only one wearing a fedora hat in a debate line-up. Mr. Trump has his MAGA red cap. Your fedora hat will look better. By the way, there are fedora hats for men and women too.

LOCAL - Long Grove Bridge Hit Again

This news article says that the Long Grove Bridge just got hit for 14th time since reopening last summer after major repairs due to previous hits.

The included bird-eye's view picture shows a stop sign before entering the bridge. DocNgu Doodles say that Long Grove should install some kind of crossbeam at that stop sign, on the same height as the bridge's entrance. Any truck that is too high will hit that crossbeam first and will stop before the bridge.

VOTING - Food & Drink

This article mentions that "President Biden had claimed that Georgia's law blocked people from providing voters with food and water while the stood in line", while the actual law says that the policy "allows poll workers to provide self-service water from an unattended receptacle within 150 feet but prohibits people from actively distributing food and drink within that distance". 

DocNgu Doodles says that this food and drink portion of the law is correct. DocNgu can image two candidates running against each other, and one of the candidates is Asian American. If the poll workers who actively distribute food and drink, are all Asian looking, and the food and drink they distribute are say, Chinese-style sweet icy soy milk and almond cookies, they will influence the waiting voters. The voters drink the soy milk, eat the cookies, remember the nice Asian looking worker, and will vote for the Asian American candidate. Why do President Biden, the Democrats and activists favor this blatant vote influence scheme?

CHINA - H&M Should-Be Stand

The CEO of H&M faces a dilemna in this article, "H&M vows to rebuild trust in China after Xinjiang backlash". This is due to an 2020 article resurfaced on social media that says the company "expressed concern about the allegations of forced labor in Xinjiang and said it would no longer source cotton from there". The Chinese is mounting a campaign to discredit H&M, causing several of its physical stores to close, and its online presence to disappear. China is H&M’s fourth-biggest market by sales, so the company cannot afford to make the Chinese government angry. What should the H&M's CEO do?

DocNgu Doodles says that the CEO should direct the company to state clearly that it only sources cotton from places that it is allowed to verify that there is no forced labor, no child labor, and other specific human rights related issues. These other issues must be stated specifically and not in general terms. Its statement will not mention China nor any other countries. The company should not drop buying from a location because of "expressed concern" about "allegations". This is hearsay. The company should send a team to investigate. If the country does not allow the team to investigate, then the company will drop buying from that country due to "it is not allowed to verify that there is no ... etc ...". For the China issue, the onus is now on China to allow an independent investigation. The pressure is then removed from H&M CEO since she can claim she just follows a very clear policy of the company.

GUN LAW - One Way To Pass The Laws

This USA article, 'Public health crisis': Senators debate how to stop gun violence in the wake of Boulder shooting says that Republicans and Democrats agree that prevention is the best way to stop mass shootings, but they do not agree on the solutions. Democrats call for some actions, and Republicans propose others. The result is that nothing gets done. The DocNgu Doodles say that instead of either Democrat or Republican solutions, let's take both solutions. Whatever the Democrats propose, it will be OK. Whatever the Republican propose, it will be OK too. For example, if Republicans want everybody to carry guns in the public, that is OK; and if Democrats want more stringent background checks, that is OK too. Both proposals will be passed in the same Gun Law bill.

After each mass shooting, the Democrats propose some gun control laws that sound reasonable, and the Republicans make some 2nd Amendment arguments that also sound reasonable. No side can guarantee that its proposal will solve the mass shooting issue. If nobody knows what will work, let's try all of them. A little more restrictions over here, a little more freedom over there, perhaps this will be the recipe for success.

If two proposals contradict each other, then both will be discarded. For example, if Democrats propose that each person can own only one gun, and Republicans propose unlimited gun ownership, then both proposals will be discarded.

To prevent all proposals to be contradicted, each side will have say, 3 proposals that cannot be contradicted. The Democrats will likely use their allotment to restrict gun ownership to people that should not own guns (like felons and people with mental disorder), and the Republicans will likely use their allotment to allow responsible Americans to more easily own guns. 

Isn't the above something we can live with and not die from?

POLITICS - $15 Minimum Wage

$15 minimum wage is currently the hot topics du jour. See for example Opinion: Plan B for a $15 Minimum Wage. The Democrats want $15 to allow a worker working full time to earn enough for a family. The Republicans say $15 is too high for states with low cost of living. The DocNgu doodles suggest a minimum wage based on the cost of living. Each state calculates a cost of monthly living for a full time worker earning enough for a family of X persons, then divides by the 4 weeks of 40 hours. This will be the minimum wage for that state. So in real money, Arkansas may have $12, but California may have $16. A state is also allowed to calculate this cost of living minimum wage per metropolitan areas. Thus Chicago may have a higher minimum wages than downstate Illinois.
